Hello and welcome to my blog. Today is Featured Project Friday on Creative Live Scrapbooking Facebook Page and I'm sharing two layouts created with CM's 2020 National Scrapbook Day project Recipe Kit. I absolutely adore this kit! It's just what I needed for pictures I took at an impromptu tea party held at my granddaughter's last summer. And, it's perfect for the pictures I took of my great-granddaughter eating strawberry shortcake in 2017!
I use project recipes mostly for inspiration but this time I used the NSD Project Recipe for my tea party photos and just changed it up a bit. I wanted to save as much of the strawberry pattern paper as possible for my second layout so instead of using two sheets as the background for my layout, I trimmed one sheet to 6" x 12" and pieced everything together. I also blew it big time when I cut the Scarlet cardstock so I went to a softer red from our discontinued Shades of Red cardstock pack. This was one easy peasy layout and I love it!
I created the strawberry shortcake layout with pieces left over from the first. Here are the instructions for my strawberry shortcake layout:
1. Using the strawberry pattern paper as your background, cut one 3" x 9" piece from the green pattern paper and one 5 3/4" x 7" piece from the aqua pattern paper. Assemble layout and adhere pieces to your background as shown with the aqua pattern paper partially covering the green.
2. Using the Border Maker and the Spring Leaf Chain Border Maker Cartridge, punch a 9" long border from the grey dot pattern paper. Use repositionable tape to adhere to the green pattern paper as shown.
3. Cut two 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" photo mats from red cardstock (I used Cranberry Cardstock but Scarlet Cardstock would also look great). Mat two 4" x 6" photos and adhere to page as shown.
4. I used a postage stamp punch from the old CM for the small aqua rectangle above my title but you can also cut a 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" rectangle from aqua cardstock. To finish your layout, create a vertical title using the TODAY letter stickers, use the journal box shown to journal your story and embellish as shown.
I'd love to see what you've done with your own photos. Just visit my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/cmcdbrinsley to leave a photo of your layout.
