Fun With Scrapbook Layout Sketches

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I'm going to share a few sketches and layouts with you. I love having layout sketches available ... especially when I'm suffering from layout block. My husband bought me a few Page Patterns books for Christmas one year and I use them often. But, to be honest, you really don't need a book or magazine full of page patterns. There are tons of scrapbook layout sketches on the web! And so many on Pinterest that you could probably fill more than one board with single and two page layout sketches. Anyway .... I created one sketch to share with you today then thought it would be fun to create a few layouts with sketches I found on Pinterest.

This is the sketch I created for today's post:

The base of my layout is beige from the Shades of Neutral  paper pack. I used paper from the Be Bold & Flourish paper pack for the rest of the layout. I love the way the Be Bold & Flourish colors compliment the flower photos on this page.

Here are three fun scrapbook layout sketches I found on Pinterest and the layouts I created from them. As you will see, I didn't interpret all of these sketches precisely. But that's the beauty of having a sketch to get you started ... you can interpret it any way you like. You'll find these sketches and so many more on our Pinterest board, Page Layout Sketches.

My first sketch is from Scrapbook Circle and uses 3 vertical photos:

I created my layout on a white refill page but you could also use white cardstock if you prefer. The rest of the layout was created with papers and slide-in cards from the Sunshine Getaway line. The flags and the bar at the top of the flags were cut from one Sunshine Getaway slide-in card (love, love, love slide-in cards!!).

My next sketch for 4 photos is by Jana Eubank:

I used the Strut Your Stuff paper pack and slide-in cards for this layout. The title, journal card and blue tag were cut from a slide-in card. I used my personal cutter to cut the little one inch square on the bottom.  You could also substitute a horizontal journal box for the horizontal picture and add a third square photo instead of a square journal box.

My last sketch for three 3" x 5" photos is by Juliana Michaels:

The Happy and You Know It Slide-In pack and the coordinating Bright Paper Pack is one of my favorite Creative Memories collections (okay .... most of them are my favorites!). The 4 inch squares used here are from one sheet of paper from the Bright Paper Pack. I just turned two of the squares to the opposite side. The title was cut from a Happy and You Know It slide-in card. I cut the squares from scraps and mimicked the doodling around the title on my squares.  I then adhered everything to the page and walla! Another page done in just a few minutes.

There you go. I hope these sketches and layouts inspire you to try some sketches yourself. They really are a lot of fun and a great time saver too. Don't forget to visit our Scrapbook Layout Sketches board on Pinterest. I was just over there and found a few more sketches I want to try out.
